Games I've been playing.

So it's the dry season of gaming. The point where no big titles are coming out. Most of the crap that IS coming out is really bad. It's just the games from small publishers, indie games, crap like that. And I mean mostly. There still being the few gem releases every now and again like Prototype 2. With major titles coming up this fall like Black Ops 2, Halo 4, and Assassins Creed 3 it's hard to really care about anything that's making it's way into my hands lately. All except Diablo 3.

Now, I know what you're thinking. Why so many sequels? Will there ever be a new original game idea? The answer is yes, and the answer is no. For the time being, people are rather comfortable with their sequels, and publishers are making gross amounts of money off them as is. Why fix what isn't broken? I'd imagine in the next five years the sequelitis will have to settle down and publishers will actually think about the games they make again. No longer will we see titles with a number after it. (Except for Halo five and six, which will further ruin the games I used to love.) But back to Diablo 3. As far as sequels go, this is something that is actually needed and will be a HUGE improvement to the Diablo branch of Blizzard. Diablo 2 could hardly be called 3 demensional, and looked like complete shit. But it was fun. Some of the most fun I've ever had with a dungeon crawler. The possibilities were endless, and it was just straight up fun killing people and taking their ears. Keep this in mind, it was made in the 90's. It's 2012. That is a century in the gaming world. Hell, even a year or two can put your game back in the stone age with the new graphical and gameplay developments. Diablo 3 is going to take everything people loved about Diablo 2, give it a new paint job, a new set of classes and skils, and a brand new story where we get to fuck up that big ass demon again. Needless to say, i'm excited.

Now a little less looking toward the future, and let's take a look at a game i've recently played called "Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2." I'm a freak about marvel, and I love all of their heroes, so it's rather amazing that I didn't realize this came out so long ago. It starts out in some random ass country, and Fury takes Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, and Wolverine to go kill some crazy bitch who wants to take over the world or something. To tell you the truth I kinda blew right through it and didn't really see the significance to the plot, except for a few years time skip where they show the group killing the girl presumed dead in the random ass place whose trying to blow up the city. Shortly after that Iron Man and Cap discover Fury is a huge dickhead and blow up one of his drones. You kinda see that Fury is just a crazy bastard the whole game. Now gameplay is awesome. You play with four different Marvel heroes and you can switch between all of them and their unique powers. And that's not the best part, you can combine their powers to do some crazy ass finishers. Nothing was more fun to be than letting Iron Man shoot lasers at Wolverines claws and having him deflect them everywhere and kill everything. One of the best parts of this game (I'm not sure if this is any sort of canon to the real story lines of Marvel) the government makes it so superheroes have to register with the government or be killed and Captain America leads a resistance against Iron Man and shield. Needless to say (Playing as wolverine the whole time) I loved joining Cap and seeing him beat Iron Man's ass. I'm not going to spoil anymore, but I'd highly reccomend this game if you're into the superhero business. And a tip from me, fuck everyone from the fantastic four, they're all horrible. Especially the human torch. Just stick to this guy and the mutant healing factor >:D
